Payments and Policies

We make purchasing custom closets and murphy beds from us as easy as possible. Once you have chosen your murphy bed and / or murphy bed project, you can use our simple online ordering process. Because a majority of our murphy beds are built to order per your selections, Meridian Closets carries certain policies that our customers need to be aware of. Below you will find information that will help you understand the requirements for purchasing, returning, and if damage occurs during shipping, and other typical purchasing policies. Payment Options

  • We accept all major credit and debit cards available today.
  • Personal Check payments can only be placed by calling us at our toll-free number (317) 762-4873.
  • All orders place by Credit Card will immediately be placed in our production schedule. Checks or Money Orders will only be placed in our production schedule once received.

PURCHASING AND INSTALLATION AGREEMENT

SCOPE OF PROJECT

Meridian Closets agrees to furnish and install cabinets, closets, etc. as shown in the attached specifications and drawings. Drawing version and invoice number are referenced below, and a final copy of the design drawings is attached to this contract.

INSTALLATION TIMELINE

Upon acceptance of this contract, an estimated lead time will be given to the customer. Meridian Closets is not responsible for changes to the estimated lead time based on delays beyond their reasonable control; or their inability to obtain necessary labor, materials or manufacturing equipment. Meridian Closets agrees to provide 7-10 days notice to the customer prior to the installation being scheduled. In the event that Meridian Closets or the customer needs to reschedule, notice must be provided by either party.

RESCHEDULING POLICY

Customer must give Meridian Closets at least 48 hours notice when rescheduling an installation. A trip charge of $75 will be added to the balance due if the crew arrives to the job site and is unable to perform an installation due to inaccessible or unprepared space(s). CANCELLATION In the event of cancellation by the customer, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be withheld by Meridian Closets to cover the cost of any work completed up to that point, and/or any materials ordered and used. REVISIONS Customer agrees that any revisions made after the date of this contract must be approved and agreed upon with their Meridian Closets representative, a minimum of 5 business days prior to scheduled installation. The installation agreement price will be adjusted accordingly, and the additional deposit will be paid before the work begins and/or items are ordered. Customer understands that any revisions made at this stage may delay the project and be subject to additional fees; which are the sole responsibility of the customer. Meridian Closets shall not be liable for loss, damages or fees incurred from delays beyond their reasonable control; or their inability to obtain necessary labor, materials or manufacturing equipment.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required when the order is placed to schedule purchasing of materials, fabricating the closets/cabinetry, etc. Upon delivery of the system at the customer’s site, which will be immediately followed by the initial installation, 40% of the total price of the project will be due. Final payment of 10% must be made at the completion of the installation. (If Financing option is exercised, terms may vary slightly.) Personal checks and major credit cards are accepted. If a credit card is used for the deposit, customers will have their cards charged for delivery/installation (40%) and final payment (10%) unless otherwise pre-arranged.

ADVERTISING/PROMOTIONAL RIGHTS

Meridian Closets reserves the right to post signage not to exceed 24” wide by 18” high on the job site, except where prohibited by neighborhood bi-laws, homeowner’s associations and any governments having jurisdiction. Sign shall not obstruct customer’s doors, driveway, windows or other means of egress. Signs may be installed up to 30 days prior to the installation and removed within 30 days of the installation being complete. Customer gives Meridian Closets the right to take and/or use photos of the before and after space(s) for marketing purposes. No customer information will be associated with these photos or shared at any time.

CUSTOMER’S RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer must provide a path free and clear of obstacles and clothing to and from the installation space(s). If the space(s) are not clear for the installation when the crew arrives, a $75 trip fee will be assessed as outlined in the Rescheduling Policy, and the installation will be rescheduled for a later date. Meridian Closets may be required to remove quarter round in some areas of your space to ensure a proper fit. Base molding will be left in tact, unless otherwise discussed with you and your design consultant; or with your installer. Meridian Closets is not responsible for tear-out, patching and painting of existing closets systems or cabinetry. All attempts for a seamless fit and installation will be made. Note that there may be gaps or spaces between the cabinetry and walls and the cabinetry and floors that may require customer provided and installed trim, quarter round, caulking or similar. Please note, mounting hardware may be visible at final installation. Customer is required to notify security and/or building and site personnel of the need for Meridian Closets to gain access to the job site. Children, pets and other contractors must keep away from space(s) requiring installation for their own safety. Meridian Closets is not responsible for damage to installations caused by others or acts of mother nature.

Murphy Bed Cancellation and Return Policy

Built to Order Beds & Cabinets

  • A processing fee of 3.5% of the order total will be withheld from any canceled order within 5 business days of purchase date.
  • After 5 business days, 35% of the product total will be withheld from any refund. All beds are built to order.
  • After the bed has shipped, 35% of the product total and ALL shipping costs incurred by Meridian Closets will be withheld from the refund. Any shipping promotion used when placing the order is void if product is returned/canceled. Customer is responsible for ALL shipping expenses as a result of order cancelation/return.
  • Product must return in original packaging. No returns 30 days after delivery. 
  • All mattress sales are final.

Discounted Beds

  • A processing fee of 3.5% of the order total will be withheld from any canceled order within 5 business days of purchase date.
  • After the bed has shipped, 15% of the product total and ALL shipping costs incurred by Meridian Closets will be withheld from the refund. Any shipping promotion used when placing the order is void if product is returned/canceled. Customer is responsible for ALL shipping expenses as a result of order cancelation/return.
  • Product must return in original packaging. No returns 30 days after delivery.
  • All mattress sales are final.

Shipping Damage

  • It is the customers responsibility to open and inspect all boxing and pieces for damage.
  • Curbside & Threshold Deliveries:
    Shipping company liability extends 24 hours after delivery for customer convenience.  Damage must be reported to Meridian Closets within 24 hours of delivery along with picture of the damage to the packaging and product. Damage noted after 24 hours is at customer's expense.

Box / Piece Dimensions

  • Warning: If you are purchasing a QUEEN SIZE wall bed, the largest piece of the project is a little larger than the size of a QUEEN SIZE BOX SPRING (this is an example). The overall dimensions are 83" x 63" x 9". The overall box dimensions is 87" x 67" x 11".  Make sure you can get this piece into your home/apartment/building up or down your stairs by placing it on its side. 

Information Inaccuracy Disclaimer

  • The prices displayed on our Web Site or in our catalog are quoted in U.S. Dollars and are valid and effective only in the U.S.
  • From time to time there may be information on our Web Site or in our catalog that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions that may relate to product descriptions, pricing, and availability. Meridian Closets reserves the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions and to change or update information at any time without prior notice (including after you have submitted your order).

Replacement Parts

  • Replacement parts due to shipping damage (properly notated on the delivery receipt) will be sent as soon as possible.*overnight shipping not available.*
  • Any replacement parts needed outside of properly notated damage or warranty issue will be at the customer's expense.
  • Meridian Closets is not responsible for hired labor.

Cabinet Beds

  • All cancelled orders will be charged a minimum of $50.00 cancellation/processing fee and will be withheld from your refund.
  • After the bed has shipped 15% of the product total and any shipping costs incurred will be withheld from any refund.
  • No returns 30 days after delivery. Product must return in original packaging.

Warranty

  • We offer a 10-year warranty on all mechanical parts. This includes all plates, screws, and gas springs. (Only applies to Murphy beds not Cabinet beds)
  • Warranty only applies to the original owner.
  • Meridian Closets is not responsible for hired labor.
  • 1 year warranty on Cabinet Bed and Cabinet Mattress against manufacturer's defects.

Shipping Disclosures

  • We reserve the right to cancel orders that are not serviced by our shipping provider. ALSO, if shipping provider is unable to contact customer for delivery, the order will be cancelled and returned at the customer's expense.
  • Deliveries typically occur on the date scheduled with the freight provider.  However, we recommend waiting until AFTER delivery has occurred before hiring someone to assist with your order, as delays can occur. Neither Meridian Closets nor shipping provider is responsible for hired labor due to incident or delayed delivery.
